It would be nice for us if we stopped day dreaming and expecting the India of the21st Century to be very much better than what it is at the end of the 20th Century. The trend that is obviously visible in all walks of life is neither very encouraging nor very full of hope.

As I've looked at things more and more, though, I've had a couple of questions about the direction things are actually moving in this race. We have had 46 polls released this week and the overall trend seems to favor McCain. But where is he gaining and what does that mean broadly?
